Laser marking for food industry
In the food industry, manufacturers of packaged foods need to code product packaging with lot number and expiration date plus other information required by regulations in various states.
Arca provides safe solutions for marking both on paper, cardboard, glass and plastic packages and directly on the food product itself.
Laser marking for food industry is indelible, and the contrast is always high. The most commonly used laser is the CO2 source laser with power ranging from 10 to 150 watts. ARCA laser markers also perform reading and grading of the marked code and traceability of the component if a vision system is installed.
It is also possible to mark on films by integrating the UV laser into thermoforming machines, flowpacks, vertical or horizontal packaging machines, bag feeding machines, and stick packaging machines.
UV technology is also capable of marking on transparent films, obtaining perfect markings.
UV laser represents a significant advantage over conventional ink-based systems, which have a high risk of incomplete or faded markings. Marking with a UV laser will be permanent and flawless even if there is oil, dust or other contaminants on the film surface. UV laser marked products are also immune to post-marking damage such as friction, alcohol, heat and transportation. Additionally, the UV laser marker eliminates the downtime needed to replace ink and clean heads with conventional thermal printers.
Laser eliminates downtime therefore you can also increase productivity, helping to improve production line efficiency.
